It features items from around the world of whisky and is published by us each Friday. Craigellachie
The Speyside distillery of Craigellachie has announced a new rare limited edition - the Craigellachie 37 years old Bourbon Cask. The whisky was distilled and filled to re-fill ex-bourbon casks in 1984, before being transferred to first-fill ex-bourbon casks for a short finishing period. The casks were selected for the bottling by Stephanie Macleod, the Malt Master for Craigellachie.
The Craigellachie 37 years old Bourbon Cask is bottled at 46.5% ABV and there are just 3,012 bottles in the release. They will be initially available in selected travel retail outlets in Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Instanbul airports until August 1. Following that it will be on sale in selected world markets including China, France, Germany, Taiwan and the UK. A bottle will cost £3,800/ $US3,245.

Timorous Beastie
The blended malt brand of Timorous Beastie, which is created by Douglas Laing & Co, has announced a new limited edition expression - the Timorous Beastie Port Edition. The release launches the new Cheese Cellar Collection from the brand. This will feature a series of finishes from different wine regions around the world. The blended malt, which is made using only single malts from the Highlands, has been married before a finishing period in ex-Port casks from Portugal. In a departure, the bottle shape also mirrors that of a Port bottle with black glass and a wax seal.
The Timorous Beastie Port Edition is bottled at 48% ABV and is both non chill-filtered and of natural colour. There are just 4,200 bottles and these will be available is selected world markets. Each will cost £65/ €75.
