Welcome to Inbox.  For those new to WFE, Inbox is our weekly round up of whisky news and PR material that has found its way in to our email inbox. It was created as we cannot write full articles or do justice to every piece received. It features items from around the world of whisky and is published by us each Friday.

The small independently owned Speyside distillery of Benromach have announced the latest addition to their limited edition Heritage range - the Benromach 1975. The release is a single cask (Cask #3434) single malt that was distilled and filled to a refill American oak hogshead cask in 1975.  It follows whiskies from 1972, 73 and 74 in the series.  The 1975 expression will have just 162 bottles at a natural cask strength of 49.9% ABV and is presented in a handblown bottle and wooden casket. It will be available worldwide in selected specialist whisky retailers, with a cost of £1,250 per bottle.

Berry Brothers & Rudd, owners of the Speyside distillery of Glenrothes, have announced a range of single malts that have been finished in wine casks.  The Glenrothes Wine Merchant's Collection uses the heritage and experience of BB&R, one of the world's oldest wine and spirits retailers, who have selected casks from some of the world's finest wine producers. These include the Château de Beaucastel, Lustau and Ridge vineyards, the Warre’s and Graham’s Port houses and ex-rum casks from the St Lucia Distillery in the Caribbean.

All the whisky used was distilled in 1992 and was matured in hogshead casks until being transferred to the various wine and rum casks for finishing in 2014. All are non chill-filtered, natural colour and bottled at the natural cask strength.  Each bottle in the Wine Merchant's Collection will cost £200 and will be available through Berry Brothers & Rudd and other selected specialist retailers in key markets.  The full range and more information can be viewed at
