Welcome to Inbox, our weekly round up of whisky news and PR material that has found its way in to our WFE email. It was created as we cannot write full articles or do justice to every piece received. It features items from around the world of whisky and is published by us each Friday. Within Inbox we aim to write a few lines detailing each press release/piece of news/PR event that we have received and provide links, where possible, for you to find out further information. Here is the news from this week ...

The independent bottler and whisky creator of Douglas Laing have announced two new permanent additions to the Remarkable Regional Malts range - Big Peat 12 years old and The Epicurean 12 years old. The Big Peat (pictured, left) is a blended malt and like the rest of the range is created using only single malts from the famous whisky island of Islay. In this case all the whiskies included are a minimum of 12 years of age. The new bottling is specifically aimed at the specialist retail sector and comes in enhanced black and gold packaging. It is bottled at 46% ABV and is non chill-filtered and of natural colour. The price will be £55/ $75 US.
The Epicurean 12 years old (pictured, right) is also a blended malt and as with other versions of The Epicurean it is made using only Lowland single malts. These are a minimum of 12 years of age for this expression. The new whisky has been presented in striking silver and green packaging to highlight its premium nature. It is also bottled at 46% ABV and is non chill-filtered and of natural colour. The price will be £50/ $67 US. Both bottlings will be available from selected specialist retailers globally and via www.douglaslaing.com.
Glendronach
The east Highland distillery of Glendronach has announced the second release of its popular super-premium Kingsman single malt - the Glendronach Kingsman Edition 1989 Vintage. The whisky has been bottled at 29 years of age. As with the first edition, it is released in collaboration with The Kingsman movie franchise. The latest in the series, The King's Man, is released by 20th Century Fox and MARV this Autumn.
The whisky has been crafted by Dr. Rachel Barrie, the Master Blender at Glendronach, using just six ex-Oloroso sherry casks sourced from Jerez in Spain. These were then finished in ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks before being married together. She worked in collaboration with Matthew Vaughn, the director of the Kingsman franchise, who is a self professed life-long fan of Glendronach.
There are just 3,052 bottles available and each has been hand labelled, numbered and wax sealed. Each is also adorned with bespoke Kingsman insignia. The Glendronach Kingsman Edition 1989 Vintage will be available from specialist whisky retailers from September and will cost £775/ $1,035 US per bottle.
