The Kingsbarns distillery, which is located near to St. Andrews in Fifeand was officilly opened in late 2014, have announced a special bottling - the Two Years Old Spirit Drink. It is the first release from the distillery that has been matured in oak and follows 2015's new make Spirit Drink. The new release has been matured in two first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and then combined.
The liquid used is the same spirit that will eventually become their single malt once it hits three years of age. The Two Years Old Spirit Drink is non chill-filtered, natural colour and bottled at the natural strength of 62.8% ABV. There are just 1,800 20cl bottles and they are only available from the Kingsbarns distillery shop. No indication of price has been given in the press release. The bourbon brand of Knob Creek is celebrating a special anniversary with a limited edition bottling. The Knob Creek 25th Anniversary Bourbon is released to commemorate the first ever expression of Knob Creek - this was created in 1992 by Booker Noe, the 6th generation Beam Master Distiller. This quarter century edition has been selected by Booker's son Fred Noe, the 7th generation Beam Master Distiller. It has been bottled at 50% ABV (100 Proof). Details of the price, availability and number of bottles were not revealed in the press release.
