Inbox / The Week's Whisky News (March 19, 2021)

Welcome to Inbox, our weekly round up of whisky news and PR material that has found its way in to our WFE email. It was created as we cannot write full articles or do justice to every piece received. It features items from around the world of whisky and is published by us each Friday. Within Inbox we aim to write a few lines detailing each press release/piece of news/PR event that we have received and provide links, where possible, for you to find out further information.

Here is the news from this week ...

________

Dunville's
The Irish whiskey brand of Dunville's has expanded its core range with the introduction of Dunville's 1808 Blended Irish Whiskey. It is a blend of Irish single malt, single grain and single pot still whiskeys with all having been matured in American oak casks. The name refers to the year when the Dunville's brand originally first appeared in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The packaging features a retro design that pays homage to the brand label from the 19th century. It is bottled at 40% ABV and will be available in Ireland and the UK, followed by the USA where it will be sold in 27 states. A bottle will cost £33/ €38.

Glencairn

The leading spirits glassware creator, manufacturer and award-winning Scottish company Glencairn Crystal Studio are celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2021. The family firm was founded by Raymond Davidson in 1981 and has since gone on to design and produce some of the most prestigious, luxurious and ground-breaking decanters in the drinks industry. They have also given us the now-iconic Glencairn Glass, which celebrated 20 years in 2020 and is loved by many whisky drinkers around the world.

To mark the anniversary Glencairn will be showing a series of 'behind the scenes' stories from across the company's four decades, which will showcase some of the major projects they have been involved with and the talented craftspeople that have helped create them. These will feature on the Glencairn website and social media channels throughout the year. The birthday will also be marked by the opening of a new studio expansion in East Kilbride later in the year.

"I couldn’t be prouder of Glencairn, what we have achieved together in the last forty years and everyone that works for us. We have grown to a team of over 70 staff now and our family values and customer relationships are still at the core of everything we do."
Raymond Davidson.
